看聖賢書，必須多一隻眼；聽他人之言，必須多一隻耳。以慧眼看聖賢書，才能見心內之法；以勝耳聽他人之言，方能勝解他人本意。
Reading books of sages and the virtuous, you have to have an additional eye; listening to others, you have to have an additional ear. Only with a wise eye will you be able to see through the dharma in your mind; only with distinctive ear, will you be able to profoundly understand the real intention of others.
