菩薩度眾生，要護念眾生的慧命，注意說話要守口德，否則斷人慧命還不自知。
A bodhisattva must be concerned with the cultivation of wisdom of sentient beings and protect it skillfully when ferrying them to the other shore. The bodhisattva must guard and be mindful of moral discipline in their speech in order to not impede the cultivation of wisdom in other people without being aware of doing so.
