聰明與智慧不同；聰明是耳聰目明，世學成就，遇境即起煩惱；智慧是了達入世、出世的道理，圓融無礙，遇境不生煩惱。
Intelligence is different from wisdom. Intelligence is having sharp ears to hear and keen eyes to see, and astounding educational accomplishments, but there will be a troubled mind when uncomfortable situations are encountered. Wisdom is the full realization of the reasoning in secular world as well as in monastic world, to deal with affairs satisfactorily and harmoniously without obstacles, and without arising of vexations in any encounters.
