對愚癡的眾生不能起對立心，要善待他，並以智慧開導他。例如狗子，你兇牠，牠會反咬你一口；你若給牠包子，牠就搖尾巴。所以，度眾生，要了解眾生的心。
Do not set in your mind an attitude disliking anyone who you think is stupid, you must treat them kindly, using your wisdom to explain things to guide them. Take a dog for example, if you treat it brutally, it may turn around and bite you. If you give it food, it will wag its tail. Hence, you must understand the minds of all beings if you want to help them reach the shore of enlightenment.
