應無所住而生其心，即是做一切事情，過了就過了，不要記在心裡生煩惱，生人我是非。因為過去心、現在心、未來心都不可得，心執著哪兒都不對。但是，我雖無住，事情來了，就去做好這件事。
“Give birth to a mind that isn’t attached to anything” means when you finish things just let go of it, do not let your mind stick to it otherwise vexations may arise, stir up trouble or provoke a dispute. The past, present and future is ungraspable, so there is nowhere for you to place your mind. Though you don’t attach your mind to anything, when things come up you must take care of it until completion, that is the right attitude and way of doing things.
